RULE 1: The future tense with will expresses a predictable or expected future event. The question pattern of the future tense is WILL + BASE form of the verb.

ルール1：未来時制は、予測可能または予想される将来のイベントを表します。未来形の質問パターンは、動詞のWILL + BASE形式です。

EXAMPLE: I will + work (base form of the verb).

RULE 2: WILL does not contract with subject pronouns in short answers but contracts in long answers.

ルール2：短い回答では主語代名詞と短縮しませんが、長い回答では短縮します。

EXAMPLE: Q: Will Ms. Martinez return soon?
Short Answer: Yes, she will.
Long Answer: She’ll (she + will) return in a little while.

RULE 3: The WILL contracts with NOT in a negative answer. The contraction is WON’T.

ルール3：否定的な答えでNOTと短縮します。短縮形でwon’t と変化します。

EXAMPLE: I will + not work. = I won’t (contraction) work.

★「未来形と未来進行形」の使い分けについて違いをノートします。”will”は意思を示すので「つもり」のニュアンスが強いです。これを “will be – ing” にすることにより確実な予定を述べることになります
