People who are happier at work are more productive, and that’s a fact. If people enjoy their job, they work harder, they take more pride in what they do, and they will work longer hours to get the job done if necessary. Companies become more profitable as a result.

Although employees have been asking for more flexibility in the workplace for years, companies had resisted telework until they were forced into a position where they had no choice but to change due to the pandemic.

Workers also get bored and become demotivated when their tasks are repetitive and mindless. Rapid changes in technology have also led to automation of some repetitive tasks, allowing employees to focus more on the aspects of the job that they enjoy.

Changes to working practices have been necessary to ensure business continuity during COVID-19. Although business transformation is not a new concept, the speed at which many businesses have transformed since COVID-19 is unprecedented.

Companies have been forced into more flexible approaches to accommodate staff working from home during the pandemic. After nearly two years, a more hybrid approach to working has now become the norm. Companies realize that their staff can be trusted to work hard, even though they are not being watched by managers. And automation has made some jobs easier and more enjoyable, too.

Many staff are also happier because they don’t have to commute to and from the office every day, and can manage their work and home life better.
