TOEIC885、海外営業員として日本で英語を使って業務をした経験を25年持つので「大丈夫だろうな」と思いますので、応募してみます。

採用テストの出題形式はTOEIC-Part5 の4択問題と類似とのことなので問題集に取り組み中です。

いまは「講師受験生」として毎朝、Part5の練習問題とネイティブキャンプを1レッスン受講をしています。

Ms. Ayu, a mother of three, worked for two decades at Bali’s luxury spas and hotels. Now, she works picking cloves on the farm of her childhood village. She is one of thousands of workers who have had to return to traditional ways of making a living.

More than half of Bali’s economy depends directly on tourism, and the coronavirus pandemic has caused a sharp decline in visitors to the area. Many workers have returned to their family farms, while others dig for clams or fish from the deserted beaches. Some rural residents are now bartering fruits and vegetables to save their limited cash to buy necessities only.

Although the economy has suffered through other disasters, the coronavirus outbreak has been the most devastating. In 2019, Bali attracted 10 million tourists from Indonesia and more than six million from abroad. In 2020, Bali had most of its 1.1 million foreign tourists visit before the pandemic. That was a drop from nearly 2.9 million during the same period last year.

Ricky Putra, chairman of the Bali Hotels Association, said, “Tourism has become the dominant work for most people.” Many young people leave their villages in northern Bali to work in the tourist centers in the south.

The return to traditional village life has reunited relatives who usually saw one another only on important holidays. Mr. Yudi, a local leader in northern Bali, has welcomed the return of about 400 tourism workers to his village of 7,000. He hopes many will stay permanently and continue to farm. He believes more resources should be devoted to sustainable farming rather than being overly reliant on tourism.
